Course availability: The listed courses are available for exchange students hosted by the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, if they have the previous knowledge requirements of the course. Please check carefully prerequisites and co-requisites and target group in the WebOodi course description.
Exchange students hosted by other University of Oulu faculties usually cannot take these courses, especially if they do not have the required previous knowledge. They must contact the International Coordinator of the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering to ask if it is possible to participate.
Language of instruction: Master level courses in the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering are mainly taught in English but there are some courses where both Finnish and English are used. Usually in these cases materials (lecture material, books, notes etc.), possible practical exercises and final exams are taught/given in English. Please read carefully conditions regarding language of instruction!
Schedules are periodical: Courses organized during periods 1-2 are given on the autumn term (September-December), and respectively periods 3-4 refer to courses given during the spring term (January-May). Please note that when you make your study plan!
Course levels: Individual course codes include information on the level of the course. There are three different levels of courses. The levels are marked with a letter at the end of the course codes. In WebOodi course descriptions the level is indicated in ‘Type’ section. There are intermediate (A) and advanced (S) level courses available in English. There is only one basic (P)level course available in English. Please note that advanced (S) courses are for Master students and might be too demanding for Bachelor students. Therefore, Bachelor students should choose mainly intermediate (A) courses.
