Learning outcomes 

The student can describe a research or development problem, solve it on the grounds of acquired knowledge and skills and report it both in written and orally.



Guided research or development work in the field of biomedical engineering or medical & wellness technology. Planning, writing and reporting of the thesis. Presentation of the thesis at the seminar and participation in the group meetings.

Independent work, group meetings

Learning activities and teaching methods 

Independent work with the support of a named supervisor. The student must agree in advance on topic and contents with the responsible person of the degree programme. Thesis can be made, for example, in a research group of the university, in industry or health care organization

Assessment methods and criteria

Schedule of the course is flexible and depends on the topic of the project. The course includes 270 hours of student´s work. Topics for thesis work in summer will be available in spring in the Moodle learning environment of the course. After having registered to the course, please, contact your project supervisor (person with whom you have agreed on the topic) and the person responsible for the course.
