Learning outcomes 

The student learns identifying a particular group of animals to the species level and also gains a good overview of their biology, distribution and status of endangerment.

 
Contents 

The course includes independent learning of Finnish species of a selected animal group (e.g. fishes; birds; mammals; a group of invertebrates) as well as learning of their biology, distribution and the red book status. Museum collections, literature and web pages are used. The number of credits depend on the extent of the species group or groups.


Student can get 5 cr from passed ornithological station bird ringing exam.
